Hello everyone! In preparation for school resumption, I want to share with you a one week back to school lunch plan. As children learn, they also need to eat good food. So,when planning children’s school lunch ensure to; prepare meals that your children enjoy eating, cook varieties, and most importantly make the meal a balanced diet.
Balanced Diet Chart for School Lunch Plan
Children need to constantly eat balanced diet for proper growth, health and well-being. A balanced diet for children should include some combinations from the following food groups; carbohydrates (rice, bread, noodles, pasta etc.), fruits (banana, oranges, mango, pineapple, watermelons), vegetables (carrots, spinach), proteins (fish, meat, eggs), dairy products (milk, yoghurt), fats and oils, minerals and vitamins.
Here is a chart that will help in selecting what food to prepare for children’s meal. So consequently, the challenge should be to always ensure children eat from all these food groups daily.
Packaging for School Lunch Plan
It is necessary to cook balanced meals, however the packaging is also vital. There are different ways to package children’s lunch depending on the type of food, preference, and convenience among other factors. As a result, you can decide to use lunch boxes or thermos (food flask) in different colors, brands, sizes, as well as cartoon theme characters. In other words, just get creative and have fun packaging food for your little one; nonetheless, I’ll advice to be careful using lunch boxes made from plastic because some plastic materials could be harmful to the health. Most importantly, an insulated thermal bag is also helpful to keep the food warm till child is ready to eat.
One Week School Lunch Plan
I usually plan our school lunch weekly. It is very important to plan ahead; for instance, cook during weekends and keep in the fridge, or a day before to avoid the stress of cooking very early in the morning.
Therefore, for this first week of school, our lunch plan is ready. These recipes are some of our favorites, and I have shared how to cook them on this blog.
